On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Vice President for Science and Technology said: The launch of this innovation campus is an activity that was carried out with the cooperation and support of donors, Shiraz University, and the government, so that the formation of a technology and innovation ecosystem can proceed more quickly. This ecosystem now exists in this province, and the support of the university, donors, and investors for it and for the ideas of creative young people is an important event that we are witnessing.
Sattari continued: “Currently, a new perspective has been created at Shiraz University, a perspective in which support for start-up businesses and innovations has made its place well. Of course, the governorate has also taken appropriate measures to develop the knowledge-based economy with the help of the technology and innovation ecosystem.
Acceleration of the movement of knowledge-based industries
In the next part of his speech, the head of the Knowledge-Based Economy Culture Development Headquarters referred to the visits made to knowledge-based companies and the Science and Technology Park during this one-day trip and added: “Although I have visited the achievements of the province’s knowledge-based companies several times in my travels, each time these visits are new and I encounter new businesses and achievements. This is an indication of the movement and proper formation of the technology and innovation ecosystem in this province.”
Referring to the achievements of Fars Province in the field of the new coronavirus disease, Sattari said: “Activists of the technology and innovation ecosystem of Fars Province have also entered the field well to deal with the coronavirus disease.” In a way that we are witnessing the production of corona detection kits in the province, and good measures have also been taken in other areas such as masks and disinfectants.
Regarding the commercialization of products by start-up businesses, the Vice President for Science and Technology stated: “In order to promote the activities of start-up businesses and commercialize their ideas, private companies must take action, and the government should only provide the infrastructure. Because start-up companies are not formed with loans. A researcher and inventor who thinks that they can achieve results with government money is mistaken, and a place like the Science and Technology Park should help develop their products with advice and mentoring. Of course, good things have also happened in the Scientific Deputy in areas such as loan allocation, financial and customs exemptions.
According to this report, Surena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology, visited knowledge-based companies located in the Shiraz Industrial Park during her trip to Fars Province to accelerate the activities of this technology and innovation ecosystem in the province.
Also, during this trip, technologists and researchers from the Shiraz Science and Technology Park presented their achievements to the Vice President for Science and Technology.
