Since innovative and creative human capital is the most important pillar of a complex’s progress, private sector recruitment tests began their work with the support of the Technology Skills Competitions series to respond to the demand of knowledge-based companies in the field of human resources. These tests identify the demand of companies and advance it towards the human resources evaluation system. So the move in it is towards training based on the needs of companies and organizations.
Parviz Karami, Advisor to the Vice President for Science and Technology, said at this ceremony: The main challenge in recent years is the issue of economy and livelihood, and employment is one of the most important problems in this area in the country at present, which can be resolved with the help of pioneering and active private sector companies that fulfill their social, technical and business responsibilities in this area.
Karami continued: Universities are the nurturers of human resources in society, and this capacity should be used properly in private technology companies and organizations. Of course, there is a weakness in universities, and that is that the necessary skills are not given to students during their studies, along with academic training, to enter society and the labor market. However, there are also successful people who acquire the necessary skills while studying.
A member of the Policy Council of the Specialized Technology Competitions Group also stated: In this regard, the Presidential Vice-President for Science and Technology tried to eliminate this deficiency by creating a technology and innovation ecosystem and to solve this problem by supporting various knowledge-based and startup projects. Therefore, accelerators and innovation centers began their work in this area alongside universities and within large companies as auxiliary arms to prepare students of various fields to enter the labor market. Of course, in this activity, the Vice-President also considered the aspect of facilitating and labor policy-making.
The Secretary of the Knowledge-Based Economy Culture Development Headquarters of the Presidential Vice-President for Science and Technology stated that in order to move in this direction, the Presidential Vice-President for Science and Technology supported private and existing platforms in the country, such as the Technology Complex, which had specialized and skill competitions on its agenda. He added: The activity of this complex began in 2014 and finally introduced students and graduates to companies in need of skilled labor through holding exams. Technology Complex developed its idea from skill and student competitions at Sharif University of Technology until the private sector recruitment exam was formed for all companies seeking labor through their efforts. Of course, I have a suggestion for the continuation of this complex’s work, which should be constantly analyzing work pathology and reducing the cost they charge job seekers and allocating this cost to employers.
According to Karami, the Presidential Vice-President for Science and Technology also supports all private and knowledge-based companies operating in this field. We are against creating a monopoly, even in this area, investing in this area and creating similar companies is in the interest of the private sector. Because in addition to helping to employ graduates, whose statistics unfortunately are compared to other unemployed people, it also helps private sector companies to attract specialized and effective personnel. Of course, similar measures have been taken in the Scientific Vice-Chancellor and the National Foundation of Elites, which can be mentioned in the Ahmadi Roshan project and the Shahid Babaei project. In these projects, the problems and needs of industry and large state-owned companies are obtained and presented to students of various levels, and they solve these problems by being in the created environment to enhance their skills during the course.
According to this report, the private sector recruitment system, relying on its 5-year experience in evaluating and assessing the skills of more than 100,000 people in cooperation with Sharif University of Technology, the Science and Technology Park, and private sector complexes, and providing skills assessment and verification services to more than 1,500 industrial, commercial, and knowledge-based companies, has created the first smart recruitment system in the private sector.
By enabling the creation of a talent bank, skills assessment and verification, standardization of resumes, and the ability to compare and rank, this system has been able to reduce recruitment costs and time by up to 60 percent for companies and, on the other hand, help them choose the most appropriate option for their job position.
Registration for the fourth private sector recruitment test began today and will continue until August 3.
